Elyria Athletic Director Heather Beck joins us on this episode of Petey Podcast to talk sports and how students can get involved. "Show up--day one--with a current physical and you're good to go!" Beck encourages students to be active and try a sport that interests them. Don't be intimidated to try something new, she said. "If your child is hesitant about trying out, watch for the camp information in April, May and June for the summer, and get them involved that way," Beck said. "The camps can be less intimidating. Even after one day, you'll see a difference. It can generate that spark in a sport. Don't (let them) say 'I'm too old to learn a sport.' Send them!'" Beck also talks up the fall season and the excitement of joining a new local conference : The SWC (Southwestern Conference.) Great things are happening in Elyria sports.
